Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) today sought more time from the Centre to submit its views on Justice Srikrishna committee report on the separate Telangana statehood issue.

PRP chief K Chiranjeevi in a statement here said it would not be possible for them to present their views without reading the report in full.

"We shall attend the all-party meeting convened by Union home minister P Chidambaram in Delhi on January 6 (to discuss the report. But we can not put forth our views immediately without completely studying the report. We shall seek more time for that," Chiranjeevi said.

The five-member committee had yesterday submitted its report to the Centre on the separate Telangana state demand.

Chiranjeevi also demanded that the state government and the Congress MPs apply pressure on the Centre to see that the Brijesh Kumar Tribunal's award on Krishna river water sharing was not implemented since it was "detrimental" to the interests of Andhra Pradesh.

"The tribunal award is a virtual death blow to AP. It was only because of the state government's gross failure in presenting our case effectively before the Tribunal," the actor-turned-politician said.

The permission given to Karnataka for raising the height of Alamatti dam would result in lesser inflows into AP, thereby affecting several irrigation projects taken up under the ambitious Jalayagnam programme, Chiranjeevi said.
