If you have a weakness for bakery products like khari (salty crispy toast) or puffs, then make sure what kind of fats were used in their manufacture before you purchase them from your favourite shop around the corner. 

For police investigations have revealed that bakery product manufacturers were among the chief clients of the beef tallow merchant who was nabbed in Vejalpur on Tuesday.

Police investigations in the beef tallow case registered at the Vejalpur Police station have revealed that Abdul Gaffar Qureshi, the kingpin who has been arrested for preparing cow tallow, has told the police that he sold a large chunk of beef tallow to the city's bakery product manufacturers.

This damning piece of evidence was revealed by Vejalpur police station inspector  JM Bharwad, who told DNA that Qureshi had been selling a large chunk of his illegal produce to local bakers.

The police have initiated investigation proceeding in the case. The cops are presently checking the licenses of many shops that were buying Qureshi's spurious stuff.

"They have been summoned and more information related to the business of cow tallow will be revealed soon," a source told DNA.

The police are also set to nab seen persons active in this business in Danilimda and Shahpur areas of the city. "We will arrest them soon and more information related to the banned business will be revealed," a source said.

Apart from that, sources told DNA that most of the bakeries usually have a stock of 400 to 500 kgs of beef tallow which they use to make their goods.
