The swine flu toll in the city touched 11 with the death of a 22-year-old man at the Safdarjung Hospital here even as 58 more people tested positive to the viral infection raising the number of such cases to 2,739.

"One 22-year-old male died on September 29 at the Safdarjung Hospital. His test reports were positive for swine flu virus. He had contracted pneumonia and suffered from respiratory distress. When brought to the hospital he was put on ventilator," Dr Anjan Prakash, nodal officer for swine flu management in the city said.

Delhi health minister Kiran Walia said, "Of the 58 cases reported today, 29 are of children alone. Till date 2,739 cases have been reported to be positive for swine flu virus in the city of which 1,433 were of children. More than 90 per cent patients have been successfully treated and discharged."

Walia further said the situation is under control and the government is doing its best in providing treatment to H1N1 patients in government hospitals. She advised people to visit a doctor at the earliest if any symptom of swine flu appears.
