After the death of a woman due to swine flu, an alert has been sounded in the district by the health department officials.

Jyoti Singh,25, died while being treated at CSM Medical University in Lucknow on July 19.

A rapid response team has been sent to Hakkami village to conduct tests on her family members and relatives, chief medical officer AK Chowdhury said.

Also, an alert has been sounded in the district and people have been asked not to panic but to opt for tests in case they show any symptoms of swine flu, he said.

Special wards have also been set up in the district hospital for the treatment of the affected patients, if any, he said.

Ever since the outbreak of H1N1 virus in March 2009, UP has reported 1,313 lab confirmed cases, of which 21 have resulted in deaths.
