With assembly elections to Tamil Nadu scheduled for May 2011, AIADMK chief Jayalalithaa today urged party workers to strive hard to bring the party back to power, saying 'success beckons us.''

'Our countdown towards success has started. Success beckons
us. From this moment let us work towards ensuring victory' she said, presiding over marriages of families of party functionaries, including a former minister's son.

She charged DMK with trying to scuttle her party's path to success through money power and asked AIADMK workers to remain vigilant.

After the demise of her mentor and party founder MG Ramachandran, she was leading the party amidst 'many challenges and hardships,' she said.

Mentioning an anecdote, she said a person waiting entry at the gates of heaven for 1000 years became lethargic for a moment when the gate opened and closed, leaving him outside.

Earlier, about 20 couples, including the son of former minister and party MLA R Viswanathan tied the nuptial knot in the presence of Jayalalithaa.
