Opposition PDP today lambasted Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah for "deceiving" innocent youth from remote areas of the state by promising to recruit them even if they are class eight pass outs.

"Omar has befooled innocent youth in the name of on-the-spot recruitements. He has deceived the middle-class (8th pass) youth who had thronged the rally for recruitment from far flung areas of Warwan, Paddar, Marwah and Kishtwar", district president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kishtwar Shakir Saddiqui said.

Omar Abdullah, had in an on-the-spot recruitment rally said that youth from remote areas will be recruited even if they have just passed their class eight.

Saddiqui said, "Ruling NC has been claiming to recruit middle pass youth in the police but not even a single middle pass was recruited in the on-spot recruitment which was conducted with much publicity at Warwan area of Kishtwar".

He said a large number of youths thronged the rally, with a hope that ruling National Conference would fulfill its promise of recruiting middle class as constables.

He said that even during the campaign of the last Assembly elections in 2008, National Conference had promised to recruit class eight pass outs in the police but after getting into power, this party has forgotten its promises.
