The Madhya Pradesh chief minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan today said that a cricket stadium of international standards would be built in the city to mark India's victory over Pakistan in the World Cup semi-final.

"I am extremely thrilled at the Indian victory and it has been decided to build an international cricket stadium here to mark it," Chouhan told PTI.

Asked if the state government would give money (by way of reward) to Indian cricketers, he said there was no need to pump more money into cricket.

Chouhan said that if at all the government wanted to give some money, it would do so for other sports, like Hockey.

India defeated Pakistan by 29 runs in a high-voltage semifinal clash in the World Cup last night in Mohali.
