Sonepat lawyers observe strike

Lawyers observed a day's strike here today in protest against the alleged police action and registrations of "false cases" against some of the advocates at Gurgaon and the police "failure" to arrest the culprits involved in the alleged murderous assault on Mastan Sharma, former president of the District Bar Association, Sonepat.

The lawyers strike paralysed the working of judicial and civil courts thereby causing inconvenience to litigants.

The District Bar Association adopted a resolution at an emergent meeting of the association, condemned the notice action against the lawyers at Gurgaon and demanded immediate withdrawal of the false cases instituted agaisnt them without any further delay.

The resolution also assured the lawyers of Gurgaon that the lawyers of Sonepat district are with them in their agitation against the police action.
