Reiterating UPA government's resolve to enact strong Lokpal Bill, Union minister Virbhadra Singh took a swipe at some members of Team Anna for politicising the issue.
"Anna Hazare's demand for Jan Lokpal Bill is justified. Even UPA government also wants to bring the bill but politics is being played around by some members of Team Anna which is not proper," Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Virbhadra Singh told reporters last evening after visiting Sai Baba temple.
Hazare could discuss about his demands directly with the government in future by avoiding some members of his team, he said without elaborating.
On likely impact of the veteran Gandhian's campaign against corruption on five states, including Utttar Pradesh, the former Himachal Pradesh chief minister said, "it was witnessed by all that Hazare's agitation remained restricted to Delhi's Ramlila maidan and the same was vindicated during his fast in Mumbai."
Singh's comments came on the eve of Team Anna hitting Uttar Pradesh, after Uttarakhand, to launch an awareness drive about corruption.
Targeting BSP supremo Mayawati for rising corruption and failing common man, Singh said the Congress would emerge victorious in the northern state owing to extensive campaign launched by the AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi besides party president Sonia Gandhi.
