Six killed, 33 injured in road mishap

Six persons including two women died and 33 others were injured when a bus in which they were traveling overturned and fell in a deep pit near Jamkandorana in the district, police said here today.

The mishap occurred late last night when a 56 seater packed bus of a private travels was going to Junagadh from Jamnagar carrying passengers to famous Girnar mountain temple in Junagadh district, police said.

The bus driver lost control while negotiating sharp turn near the town and the bus fell into 15 feet deep pit before getting overturned, they said. Six persons died on the spot while 33 deveotees were injured seriously and were rushed to Junagadh hospital.

Conditions of three persons was stated to be critical. The deceased have been identified as Paresh Valiya, Bheema Jethva, Jamangiri Goswami, Hansha Pansuriya, Naresh Prajapati and Manju Kharva, police said.

One of the passenger has lodged a complaint against the bus driver for rash driving and further investigation is on, police added.
