SIT is prejudiced, says VHP leader Pravin Togadia’s lawyer

A day after VHP leader Pravin Togadia spewed venom at the Special Investigating Team (SIT) following his appearance before the panel, the VHP leader's lawyer too attacked the SIT and called it prejudiced.

"Basic human and fundamental rights require that Pravin Togadia be informed in advance about the exact allegations against him. However, till the questioning began at SIT office on Monday, my client was not aware of the charges against him," SR Pandya said in a letter to SIT member AK Malhotra, who questioned Togadia.
Pandya said that while Togadia was shown the copy of Zakia Jafri's complaint at the SIT office, it was  only for a short time. "My client could not even read the complaint properly," he said.

"This, once again clearly shows that the SIT is prejudiced and pre-decided about my client and about further action regarding the same," he said.

"We have nothing to hide and had requested that the questioning be held in the open. However, this demand was rejected by SIT which seems to be hiding the truth and persecuting my client," he stated further.

Pandya also asked SIT to give certified copies of all questions posed to Togadia during the questioning and the answers given by him.
