Shopkeepers pelt stone at AMC officials

On Monday, a stone pelting incident was reported from Indrapuri ward of the city. Estate officials of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) had gone there to demolish illegal constructions under the CTM Bridge.

This angered the shopkeepers who began to pelt stones at the officials.

The matter was brought under control when the police arrived and lent a helping hand in carrying out the demolition peacefully. However, Girish Patel, a sub-inspector of the estate department, and Deepak, a labourer, got injured who were then later admitted to LG Hospital. 

A police case has also been filed at Ramol police station. Estate officer Mahesh Patel has filed a complaint in which he has stated that Girish and Deepak were attacked by a person named Lalo. The incident took place at 11 am.
