Security forces and militants exchanged fire briefly in Kulgam district of south Kashmir early today but none was injured.
Militants fired at a security patrol near village Tachroo, 85km from Srinagar, prompting the jawans to retaliate, official sources said.
No one was injured in the brief gun battle, they said.
Security forces had launched a massive hunt to nab the militants, the sources said.
