New Delhi: Seven-year-old NRI Adithya Chandran was reunited with his father on Tuesday.
The supreme court directed his mother, Vijaysree Voora, to return to the US with Adithya and husband Ravichandran within 15 days and stay there till the appropriate court decides who gets custody of the child. Voora is facing legal action in the US for escaping with the child to India without his father's consent and without securing court permission. Voora and Ravichandran are estranged.

Voora had fled to India with Adithya in 2007 and kept on dodging police of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Assam and Ravichandran had been running from pillar to post to find his son.

Ravichandran filed a habeas corpus petition in the court and on the court's direction, the CBI traced the son-mother duo.

Ravichandran said after the order from justices Tarun Chatterji, RM Lodha and BS Chauhan, "It is a good day for fathers because finally fathers are allowed to be with their children and justice has won."
