The examination of former chairman of Satyam Computers B Ramalinga Raju and nine other accused in the multi-crore accounting fraud in the IT firm, was again postponed today, as one of the accused moved the high court seeking reversal of procedures to commence trial.
The XXI additional chief metropolitan magistrate court, adjourned the matter (examination of accused) to August 11, following a request from Ch Srisailam.
Srisailam requested the court to adjourn the case saying he has filed a petition with the high court against the sessions court order that had on Wednesday dismissed his application to hear the accused before examination and framing of charges.
Srisailam filed the revision petition in the sessions court after magistrate BVLN Chakravarti, had also earlier dismissed his plea that the charges against the accused be heard ahead of their formal examination.
The court, dealing with the Satyam scam case, wants to examine all the accused, including Raju, with regard to the allegations mentioned against them by the CBI in two separate charge-sheets before commencing the trial.
Raju, the prime accused in the case, who he is undergoing treatment for Hepatitis C infection and not attending court proceedings since September last year, would be examined
through a questionnaire, which would be served on him at NIMS
hospital while the the examination of remaining nine accused
would be taken up in the court itself.
Earlier, the court had adjourned the case on July 23, 26, and July 29 pending Srisailam's petition.
