Steadfastly opposing the Women's Reservation Bill, the Samajwadi Party today said it will issue a whip to MPs over the measure which will be taken up in the Rajya Sabha tomorrow.

"We will have a meeting of our MPs tomorrow morning just before parliament commences to discuss our strategy over the Bill. Although all our MPs are following the party line of opposing the Bill, we will also issue a whip so that nobody goes against the party stand," SP chief Whip Shailendra Kumar, MP, told PTI.

Party general secretary Mohan Singh alleged that both Congress and BJP had come together against the welfare of Mulsim women. "We will strongly oppose the Bill in Rajya Sabha tomorrow. Our stand has already been that there should be reservation within reservation for dalit and Women women.

"But when the interest of Mulsim women is to be upheld both Congress and BJP have joined hands," Singh said

Singh, who is also the spokesperson of the party, said that while reservation for Dalit women in parliament has been more or less accepted, there seems to be no support over reservation for Muslim women.
