Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today said the state's model of development through unity and harmony (sadhbhavna) in the past 10 years rooted out Congress's divide-and-rule politics.

"Gujarat's model of development through unity and harmony for last 10 years has uprooted the past Congress style of divide-and-rule," he said, while speaking at his tenth day-long district level fast as a part of the statewide Sadhbhavna Mission at Ahwa in Dangs district.

"The vote-bank politics of rulers in Delhi has spread atmosphere of gloom and dejection, while Gujarat provides the ray of hope," he said.

Noting that earlier rulers (Congress) never bothered much about tribals in the past 40 years, Modi said his government had for the first time set up higher secondary schools with science stream for tribals, which helped them become engineers or doctors.

He also announced a slew of development projects, worth around Rs 575 crore, for Dangs district.

The projects include roads renovation (Rs 185 crore), drinking water projects (Rs 30 crore), educational infrastructure (Rs 100 crore), Saputara hill station development (Rs 77 crore) and Dandakaranya development, check dams and other projects (Rs 30 crore).
