Russian tourist found dead in Kerala resort

A Russian tourist was found dead in his room at a private beachside resort at Varkala near here yesterday.
   
Police said Solonin (69) had checked in at the resort on December 19 with his friend Kovaliev Vittali from Kazakhstan after a visit to Pondicherry.
   
Vittali found Solonin dead yesterday at around 7 am. According to preliminary reports, cardiac arrest could be the reason for his death, police said.
   
Police, Forensic and scentific experts visited the resort and gathered evidence.
  
Honorary consul of Russia at Thiruvananthapuram, Ratheesh C Nair told PTI that efforts were on to send the body to Russia after post-mortem and embalming.
