The demonstration was a part of RSS's nationwide programme of protesting the allegations hurled against them by the UPA government.
Protesting against the allegations of being involved in terrorist activities and harassment of full-time senior workers, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Ahmedabad unit staged a protest on Ashram Road on Wednesday.
The demonstration was a part of RSS's nationwide programme of protesting the allegations hurled against them by the UPA government.
Pardip Jain, spokesperson of RSS Ahmedabad, said that it's a conspiracy of defaming RSS by associating it with terrorism. UPA government has been associating Hindutva with terrorism for a long time, 'as part of a sinister political conspiracy'.
Now the Congress led government in Rajasthan has arrested RSS's national executive council's senior member Indreshkumar, alleging his involvement in the Ajmer bomb blast. They are doing this to malign RSS's image and put a ban on the nationalist organisation.
“RSS is a disciplined nationalist organization and history has witnessed sacrifices of RSS volunteers in the service of society and the nation. The leaders present at the demonstration said that the RSS doesn't need anybody's certification for its services to the nation,” said Jain.
He added, “Today, more than 2,000 people participated in the public protest at Vallabh Sadan on Ashram Road. Dr Amrut Kadiwala, Prant Sanghchalak (head of RSS Gujarat state) and Sunil Deshpande, in-charge of RSS West Zone and Vallabh Savaliya, head of Ahmedabad city RSS, were present at the meeting. After the protest demonstration, a memorandum addressed to the Prime Minister and the President of India was submitted to the collector.”
Newly elected mayor of the city Asit Vora was also present at the protest meet by virtue of his being an RSS member.
Talking about their future programmes, Kadiwala said, “All the protest activities and programmes are being planned and decided by our national body. There will be a meeting of national office bearers of RSS in a day or two, to decide the future course of action. Gujarat RSS will be following the directions given by the national body.”
