The RSS today condemned home minister P Chidambaran's "saffron terrorism" remarks, saying the organisation has believed in peace and non-violence ever since its inception.

Addressing a press conference in Jalgaon at the end of the three-day national executive meeting of the RSS, Sarkaryavah Suresh Joshi said the organisation believed in peace and non-violence ever since its inception.

He said RSS will observe the 150th birth anniversary of Madan Mohan Malviya and Rabindranath Tagore in 2011.

Joshi also expressed confidence that Ram temple would be built in Ayodhya.

"There are minor obstacles and we are confident that the issues would be resolved soon by all the concerned. RSS will undertake a 'Janjagran Abhiyan' in this connection soon," he added.

To question on the chief minister Ashok Chavan's involvement in the Adarsh society scam in Mumbai, Joshi said it was for the people to decide what kind of leaders they want in power.

He also criticised author Arundhati Roy for her comments that Kashmir has never been an integral part of India. "Her comments are unacceptable," he said.
