Rs20 lakh in cash seized by police in Nanded

Police today seized Rs20 lakh in cash allegedly belonging to Independent candidate Pratap Patil Chiklikar.

The amount was seized from a jeep which was abandoned by the candidate's supporters, who fled from the spot, police said, adding the vehicle has been seized. Chiklikar is in poll fray from  Loha Assembly segment in Nanded district.

In another incident, Shiv Sena workers thrashed Chiklikar Mitra Mandal President Suresh Rathod for allegedly distributing money to voters at Zambegaon. No arrest has been made in the two incidents, police added.
