The Election Commission has seized unaccounted money between Rs two crore to Rs three crore in Andhra Pradesh where bye-election is slated for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat on May 8.

"We have seized some cash. But the seizure has come down because of tight monitoring control," deputy election commissioner Vinod Zutshi told reporters when asked about the seizure of black money in the high profile constituency.

Replying to a question on state ministers in Andhra Pradesh camping in the constituency, the DEC said there was no bar from the Commission.

Barring 48 hours before the campaign closes, anyone can go, he said, adding the ministers cannot use official machinery for poll purposes.

Late chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy's son Jagan Mohan Reddy is seeking re-election from Kadapa Lok Sabha seat, while his mother Vijayalakshmi is contesting from Pulivendula Assembly seat.
