It is raining culfests at the educational institutes in the city.

Richter 10, the two-day annual cultural festival of the Institute of Management, Nirma University (IMNU) came to a musical end on Saturday amid a superb performance by two of Bollywood's most popular music directors.

The grand finale of the event included a performance by music directors Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani. This was for the first time that the duo performed in the city. The duo was also accompanied by members of Vishal's band 'Pentagram'. The event started off with LAN gaming event 'Guerrear' which included Xbox, and playstations.

A solo singing contest 'Swarotsav' and a drama competition titled 'Ranmanch' were also part of the event.  But another event that turned out to be a hit was 'Bandslam', a rock competition.  "This event saw B-schools from across the country competing with each other," said Abhinav Gupta, one of the coordinators of the event. Ten rock bands from different parts of the country including Kolkata, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai took part in the competition.

The rock band from Kolkata was the winner. "The audition for the rock band competition had around 200 entries from across the country. The bands performed original tracks, written and composed by them, many of which were in Hindi or English," said Gupta.

He said these bands were groomed for their stage performance and also instructed in styling and conduct by seasoned people from the industry.

Other events included face painting competition 'Frontispiece', junkyard war event 'Progettare', solo dance competition 'Groove' and Wild Vulture Chase, an event in which participants were given a list of tasks for which they had to take pictures with their cellphone cameras. A fashion show 'Couture Carnival' and treasure hunt 'Caca de Tesouro' also enlivened the evening.

For film buffs there was 'Showtime' - an event in which students showcased short films made by them. Prizes worth over Rs2,00,000 were up for grabs at the two-day culfest.
Around 10,000 people including politicians, police officials and executives of top companies and their families attended the event.

The main sponsors of the event were Hero Honda, Striker, DNA and FM Radio.
