Thousands of people, especially women, thronged the banks of river Godavari last evening to witness the 225-year-old Ram Ratha Yatra.
The yatra began after performing pooja of Lord Rama's paduka (foot wear) and marks the end of week-long Ramjanmostav.
The wooden chariot, having marvellous carving works, was illuminated by members of the Kala Ram Temple Trust.
Pulled by devotees, it was taken through streets in Panchavati locality.
The yatra concluded late in the night and passed off peacefully.
