Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray plans to meet chief minister Narendra Modi in July. He will visit the state to see the development that has taken place here especially in the urban development sector.

Sources in the chief minister's office confirmed that MNS general secretary and spokesperson Shishir Shinde recently visited Modi.  Shinde is also an MLA from Maharashtra. Thackeray's visit comes in the wake of recent order given by Maharashtra high court where it asked the Mumbai corporation officers to visit Ahmedabad and Surat.

"Maharashtra HC recently asked Mumbai Corporation's officers to study the hawker management implemented by the civic authorities in Ahmedabad and Surat. The Mumbai officials were asked to do so because of a case that related to hawker menace on Mumbai's footpaths," said Shinde.

He said, "Our president Raj Thackeray has decided to visit Gujarat to see the development and progress of the state under Modi's leadership. However detailed tour plan has not yet been finalised but his visit will surely not be a flying visit. He might stay back for at least three days in Gujarat. He will be visiting Gujarat sometime in July."  Thackeray and Modi's political friendship is believed to be strong.
