The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is leaving no stone unturned to market Kids City, the only infotainment project for kids in the country, which is housed at Kankaria Lake.
The civic body has decided to screen a two-minute promotional film of the infotainment project for kids in major theatres of Gujarat.
Interestingly, the AMC may not have to spend a single paisa on the whole exercise.
The AMC recently handed over a CD containing the promotional film of Kids City to the district collector and requested him to ask theatre owners to screen it. The aim behind such a move is to effectively reach out to a large audience, especially children.
"The promotional film contains information about various activities such as radio station, an interview with the chief minister, ice-cream factory, theatre activities, fire-brigade, among others," said MS Patel, deputy municipal commissioner of AMC's south zone.
The civic body is also actively promoting the project outside Ahmedabad and has sent the CDs of the film to six municipal corporations and over 15 municipalities for screening it on the local cable network and in theatres of small towns.
Since the target audience for Kids City is small children, the AMC is also planning to approach all schools in the city and state for its screening. However, the move will take place only after the reopening of schools on June 15.
Patel added that Kids City was developed by the AMC with funds of Rs12.25 crore it received from the state government under the CM's golden jubilee urban development scheme.
Since it is a unique project which provides information along with entertainment to children not only in Gujarat but also in India, each and every child of the state should benefit from it, said Patel.
