If not permanently then, at least, for a day the encroachments on city roads along the route of the prime minister's one day visit were removed with as many as six DCPs, 20 PIs, 10 ACPs and over 500 constables and assistant sub inspectors deployed to take care of security measures. Fortunately, the bandobast did not result in the choking of traffic lines in the city, which generally happens during such VVIP visits.

The route was kept clear for around 30 minutes before the PM's convoy passed from the designated roads. The police managed the traffic on the roads for the entire day, albeit the PM's convoy of 40 cars passed in a few minutes.

As many as 400 traffic cops were deployed at different points on the PM's route, ensuring smooth traffic and around 250 police officials were deployed inside the IIM-A campus for the PM's visit.
Talking to DNA, the deputy commissioner of police, Zone 1, Rajivranjan Bhagat said that 60 per cent of the total police strength had been deployed on the PM's route while 40 per cent had been deployed inside the IIM-A campus.

Almost each and every roadside shop, including eateries, paan shops, soda vendors and other street vendors were cleared from the footpaths for a day and the city became free of all kinds of illegal encroachments.

After landing at the airport, the PM went to circuit house and later on moved to ISRO and eventually to the IIM-A.
