Police still awaits forensic report on 2010 Jama Masjid blast

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav sought to know if the articles recovered from the incident site have been sent for the FSL examination, to which police said the report was awaited.

    The Delhi Police today told a court here it was awaiting forensic examination report of cartridges and other articles recovered from the site of September 2010 firing-cum-blast near Jama Masjid, suspected to be the handiwork of IM operatives arrested recently from across the country.

    Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Vinod Yadav sought to know if the articles recovered from the incident site have been sent for the FSL examination, to which police said the report was awaited.

    The court also extended the custody of six alleged IM operatives Mohammed Qatil Siddiqui, Gohar Aziz Khumani, Mohammed Adil, Mohammed Irshad, Gayur Ahmed Jamali and Aftab Alam alias Farooq, who, the Special Cell claimed, have confessed to their involvement in the blast.

    The blast took place minutes after a shootout by two men in which two Taiwanese tourists were injured.
