Police arrest person impersonating as IAS officer in Chhattisgarh

He was arrested while addressing a 'press conference' at a hotel in Bilaspur reportedly making some fake announcement.

One Sandip Jaiswal impersonating as an IAS officer from the Karnataka cadre has been arrested by the police here.
    
Police said Jaiswal was indulging in fradulent acts and would take money from people posing as an IAS officer.
    
He has been booked under section 419 and 420 of the criminal procedure code.
    
Police chief at Kharasia Ashok Wadekar said Jaiswal cheated a local businessman by offering him to get his pending work in a government department done and extracted Rs2 lakh from him.
    
Wadekar said Jaiswal would tell people that he belonged to the 2001 batch IAS officer from Karnataka cadre and that he would soon be deputed as a collector in Chhattisgarh.
    
He was arrested while addressing a 'press conference' at a hotel in Bilaspur reportedly making some fake announcement. Police have recovered a fake identity card and Rs2 lakh in cash from him.
