The prime minister will take "appropriate action" on the issue of the alleged financial irregularities in the Commonwealth Games projects, union minister Salman Khurshid said today.

"Our first priority is the smooth conduct of the Commonwealth Games. On Kashmir, the corporate and minorities affairs minister said that the prime minister and home minister P Chidambaram are constantly monitoring the situation and are working hard to bring normalcy there.

"There is an elected government in Jammu and Kashmir. We must strengthen the hands of the government in the state where a young and dynamic chief minister is handling the situation," he said.

"The prime minister is concerned, we all are concerned and trying to find out a solution," the minister said.
