A Criminal Original Petition, seeking to direct among others Inspector General of Police (South Zone), to file a case against Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for his remark comparing the three Rajiv Gandhi assassins with Parliament Attack convict Afzal Guru, has been filed at the Madras High Court Bench in Mumbai.
The other two respondents in the case, which is yet to be admitted, included Director General of National Investigative Agency and Deputy director of CBI.

The Chief Minister had asked if the reaction would have been the same in case of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly passing a similar resolution seeking amnesty for Guru.
The petitioner K Neelamegam, an advocate, charged that Omar's statement was "irresponsible" and claimed he had committed offences under various sections of the IPC including 124 (A) (Sedition) and 298 (Uttering, words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person).
As a backlash of Omar's statement, the subversive elements promoting Islamic fundementalism carried out the bomb blast outside the Delhi High Court, thereby emboldening the anti-secular forces, he alleged.
The petitioner said he had filed a complaint before the IG (South Zone) stating Omar had committed an offence against the people of Tamil Nadu, represented by the Legislature of Tamil Nadu by comparing Afzal Guru with the Rajiv assassins.
But no action had been taken on his complaint, he said.
