Paswan re-elected LJP president, to fight for reservation for Muslims

The LJP would would fight for providing 10 per cent reservation to Muslims as recommended by the justice Ranganath Mishra Commission and press for budgetary allocation for their development based on their population, its president Ramvilas Paswan said today.
   
Paswan, who was re-elected as national president for another five year term for the fifth term in succession at the national executive meeting of the party here told reporters that he favoured reservation for women from the dalit, SC/ST and backward castes.
   
The LJP in a political resolution demanded reservation for SC/ST and backward classes in privates sector jobs and 10% reservation in government jobs for economically backward people of upper castes.
   
Paswan also demanded that those belonging to SC/ST and backward classes should get reservation while appearing in examinations for judicial services.
   
He also demanded 35% reservation for women in Parliament and state assemblies.
   
He held the UPA government responsible for the price rise of essential commodities and said the Nitish Kumar government too failed arrest the price rise.
   
The LJP criticised the racial attacks on Indian students in foreign countries particularly Australia.
