Ruling National Conference's (NC) student wing today accused the BJP and Panthers Party of misguiding youths and spreading "false canards" about the Jammu and Kashmir government's new recruitment policy.

National Conference Student Union (NCSU) will launch a statewide movement and expose the leaders of the Panthers Party and the BJP who have been using the youth for their own political gains, NCSU president Rahul Sharma told reporters.

He also asked the youth to boycott the elements who are not concerned about their welfare but interested in exploiting them to realise their own political ambition.

Sharma said as a responsible students' body, NCSU is committed to the welfare of the youth and will stand up against all odds for the welfare of the youth.

Police today detained 43 students and activists of Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarathi Parishad as they were marching towards civil secretariat in Jammu to protest against the new recruitment policy.

The ABVP activists were protesting against the state government for its new recruitment policy under which a fresh recruit would get only 50 per cent of basic pay for first two years and 75 per cent for next three years without any allowances.
