A Pakistani intruder who sneaked into Indian territory through a border outpost at Majnu area in Sriganganagar district has been shot dead by BSF jawans after he refused to go back when asked to do so, a BSF official said today. The deceased man, 40-45 years old, was identified as Naseerula Khan of Sarkoda district in Pakistan, the official said.

The incident happened late Wednesday night. The intruder was identified through an Urdu impression on his right hand, he said, adding a name Fauji Maksood Khan was also found impressed on his arm.

During a Flag Meeting, Pakistani authorities refused to accept the body and hence it was buried in the Indian territory after conducting a postmortem yesterday, he said.

Besides clothes, a cigarette packet and a match box was recovered from his possession, he added.
