They have beautiful hand embroidery- Jisti embroidery -like ours. They too have expert artisans. But, members of ‘Sabah’, an NGO from Pakistan feel they will have to learn to encourage women to form a group and give them lessons in professionalism to revive the Jisti embroidery.

Now, to revive the art, Sabah intends to replicate the STFC model. A team of Sabah is already in town to take lessons from STFC. Nuzhat Tabassum and Gulshanbibi- members of ‘Sabah” brand are here to get STFC’s help in learning the art of marketing and organising the products.  “We have around 200 women who are very good at Jisti embroidery. However, we want to train around 1500 women in the next couple of years,” said Nuzhat.

Administrator of Sabah, Fayyaz Abbas said replicating STFC the model would give immense opportunity to women in Pakistan. “Apart from financial stability, the move to market Sabah brand will also help in the growth of our women and the nation,” he said.
A team of 23 members of Sabah is expected to visit the city for a one month training course at STFC.
