In order to commemorate Ahmedabad's 600th birth anniversary, the students of I D Patel School organised a 3-day art exhibition that commenced on Friday.

Anandi Patel, minister for women and child welfare, Guj government, Kanaji Thakor, mayor of Ahmedabad and Manu Rawal, chairman of primary municipality board, Ahmedabad were present on the occasion.

The exhibition showcased a 1500 metre long painting displaying Ahmedabad's history, growth and future.

"About 2000 students from all grades spent around 8 hours per day for five days to create the painting. We received an over whelming response from the visitors," said Hetal Thakkar, the principal of I D Patel.  Students used crayons and water colours to make the paintings come alive.

"The students were allowed to choose their own space to make the theme based paintings and different sections worked on something different about Ahmedabad," said Thakkar.
