Opposition demands doctors’ termination, relief

Leader of opposition in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), Badruddin Shaikh, has written a complaint letter to the Medical Council of India (MCI) concerning the incident at LG Hospital. He has demanded that the hospital terminate the services of the doctors responsible for such a gross mistake.

He wrote, "The inquiry committee should not have Dr Prabhakar as an investigating officer in the case as senior doctor and associate professor Dr Bhavesh Jaisalpura was his ex-student and there are chances of a biased decision."

He also wrote, "The patient and the family should be given Rs1 lakh for being made to undergo such a traumatic incident."
