One shot dead by gunmen in Manipur

A 36-year-old man was shot dead by gunmen at an interior village in Manipur's Churachandpur district, delayed official reports said today.

Lin Khotingthang Haokip was gunned down at Songdo village, about 70kms south of here, on Sunday night.

Although Songdo is a part of Churachandpur district, it falls under Moirang police station of neighbouring Bishenpur district, the reports said.

The body was handed over to his family after post-mortem.

The motive behind the killing was not yet known.
