The third day of board exams passed off peacefully in the city as well as across the state. In Ahmedabad not a single case of untoward incident was reported. However, in other parts of the state, the horror of dummy writers once again surfaced. On Saturday four persons were caught taking exams in the guise of students while 31 cases of copying were registered in different parts of the state.

According to district education officials, 48,696 students of class X appeared in English as compulsory language exam. According to some English teachers two questions carrying three marks were not precise and it left students confused. They, however, said that by and large questions were easy and were asked within the syllabus.

In standard XII exams of statistics and physics (science stream) were held along with history (general stream). In city there were no complains of any untoward incidents.

However, 22 cases of copying were detected in class X exam from other parts of the state. Junagadh topped the chart with seven cases and in Amreli there four cases. Other districts such as Vadodara (one), Rajkot (2) Gandhinagar (1) the exam passed off quietly.
