Offices and banks to remain closed on Bihar Diwas tomorrow

The Bihar government has declared a holiday tomorrow and even banks will be closed under the Negotiable Instruments Act on the the occassion of Bihar Diwas being celebrated with much fanfare tomorrow.
    
The art, culture and achievements of the state will not only be showcased in the state but also in all the metropolitan cities and abroad during the three-day celebration.
      
To allow people to participate in the function with full vigour, the state government has declared March 22 as holiday and even closed the banks under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
    
Functions were being organised not only in Patna but also in Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Banglore where a large number of Biharis reside, Vivek Singh, secretary, Art, culture and youth affairs and chairman of newly formed Bihari foundation, said.

He said the foundation will be organising functions in Korea, Bharain, Australia, United States, Doha and Dubai.
       
The main function will be held at Gandhi Maidan here where a 12-ft high statue of Lord Buddha, replica of state secretariat, 30-ft high Ashokan pillar, Pawapuri's Jal Vihar ( a Jain piligrimage) and Shanti Stupa of Rajgir would be the
main attraction for the people visiting the maidan.

All the universities will also celebrate the function tomorrow and organise a number of programmes on the occassion.
