After 81 years of Gandhiji's Dandi March, another Dandi yatra will be initiated in the city on the same date - March 12. Only this time, the yatra will be held for fighting corruption. The idea was initially conceived by two NRIs Rajkumar Singh and Shreedhar Alturi, who wanted to promote Gandhiji's ideologies to fight corruption.

While Singh will initiate the march from Gandhi Ashram, Alturi will organise a similar march in USA as well. Forty thousand people are expected to participate in the march in USA.

Talking about the march, Singh said, "We want to completely abolish corruption from this world and want to spread the message through this Dandi march. Our fight is not against any political figure or party, but only against corruption." The march will begin from Gandhi Ashram and end with salt making activity at Dandi on April 6.

"We will make 50,000 salt packets at Dandi and will distribute to President Pratibha Patil and other ministers," added Singh.

Also during the march, 10,000 copies of Gandhiji's book 'My Experiments with truth' will be distributed. Apart from the march, a rally will also be organised in the city on March 26. The rally will begin from Gandhi Ashram between 10 am to 5 pm. The rally will have the message of 'India against corruption', added Singh.
