The police are yet to get a lead in the two sensational cases that rocked the city in the last 15 days - the murder of a 75-year-old woman in Jodhpur Gam and the alleged rape and blackmail of a woman.

"We have not got any lead in the case and so far there is no suspect. We are investigating the same," said senior police inspector of Satellite police station, MR Gupta when asked about the Usha Choksi murder case.

Police sources said that the domestic help was a suspect but so far the cops have failed to gather any evidence against her. The Satellite police have only managed to record the statement of the domestic help. "The woman is not a suspect for the murder and we are trying to get other details," Gupta told DNA. Choksi was robbed and murdered at her home in Jodhpur Gam. Her body was found by her daughter Hemali.

The investigation in the Dariapur case also seems to be heading nowhere as the police are yet to nab the accused Bharat Makwana. He is accused of raping a 32-year-old woman in Dariapur and later circulating MMS clips of the same in the locality.

"We checked the authenticity of the complaint and found it to be genuine. We are trying to find the accused," police inspector, RH Panchani told DNA. Dariapur police have recorded the statement of Makwana's father.
