Old School from Ahmedabad and Aurora Jane, an Australian band on Thursday night. But day three had a lot more in store.
On Friday student designers participated in the ‘make news’ competition. Each team presented news in a creative way to prove that news is important because it informs and educates, but equally important is its content.
Students also took part in the ‘Best Of The Waste’ competition and made cabinets, tables and other things out of waste materials like plastic bottles, newspapers and cups, among others. “In our everyday life, we take a lot of things for granted. It is important that those aware spread the message of saving nature and recycle whatever products they can,” said Akanksha Mishra, an Niftian and member of the winning team.
The evening had Niftians engaged in what they are best with — designing clothes. “It was a complete designing competition, which required students to use all kinds of draping techniques. Any design created had drapes,” said Hitesh Arora, another student. So, while all the students had their grey cells working for the creative designing competition, it was Sakshi, Piyusha and Vasudha who bagged the first prize.
After a ‘rocking’ Thursday, students decided to dedicate Friday evening to a different art form. They performed a Hindi play, ‘Natak hua bimar’, which depicts the sorry state of Hindi theatre in today’s world. The skit was followed by a poetry recital by renowned ‘hasya and prem kavi’ Kumar Vishwas from Delhi.
