NCP demands removal of deputy chairman planning board in Goa

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in Goa has demanded that Deputy Chairman Planning Board Dr Wilfred D'Souza, should be removed from the post.

Dr D'Souza, former NCP Goa Chief, was awarded the post when coalition between Congress and NCP was struck in Goa. He resigned from NCP in June last year enmass.

"I have written letter to chief minister Digamber Kamat asking him to remove Dr D'Souza from the post and give the seat to NCP," NCP's Goa Unit President Joseph Philipe D'Souza told reporters here.

"When Dr Wilfred D'Souza headed NCP it was party limited to few people. Now we welcome everyone who have left the party including Dr D'Souza," the NCP chief said.

Joseph Philip D'Souza who was nominated for NCP chief's post, this week, said that those leaders expelled from the party by Dr D'Souza will be taken back in the party fold.

The NCP Goa chief said that he is not happy with share of power given by Congress to the party.

"I am not happy. I will discuss with chief minister. We want more share," he said responding to a question.
