National Minority Commission (NMC) member MD Bengali visited Gujarat on Monday to hear various complaints made by people belonging to the minority commission.

In a daylong meeting at circuit house in Gandhinagar, Bengali met the parents and family members of the accused in the Vadodara rocket case.

The incident happened last month. Bengali also met various complainants from the Parsi community.

Mohmad Naeem, brother of accused Usman Gani in the Vadodara rocket launcher case, said that he has requested the commission to help free his brother who has been wrongly framed in the case.

“The police kept my brother and other in custody for over a month. For five days they were kept in custody without a case being registered,” said Naeem.

“Today we met the commission member and have been assured of justice,” said Naeem. Family members of other accused in the case, Zahir Ababas and Iqbal Majid, were also present.
