Narendra Modi’s day out: Attends 6 public functions in South Gujarat

After the assembly’s budget session, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s public engagements have been on the rise. In a way he was never away from the public eye even during the month-long budget session as BJP MLAs brought thousands of people from various assembly constituencies to meet him.

Right now, the CM is distributing appointment letters to unemployed people of the state by visiting various districts in different zones of the state. On Friday he attended six programmes in south Gujarat.

He inaugurated a wind turbine tower plant constructed at a cost of Rs75 crore by Feders Lloyd Corporation, as part of a Rs. 300 crore MOU that was signed during the last Vibrant Gujarat Industrial Investment Summit, at Jambusar in Bharuch district.
The CM also dedicated a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Jubilant Life Science Ltd, spread over 300 acres in Vilayat Industrial Estate in Vagra taluka of Bharuch district.

As part of the celebration of Swami Vivekananda Youth Employment week, Modi gave appointment letters to 8,858 unemployed youth of Surat, Valsad, Bharuch, Navsari, Tapi, Dangs and Narmada districts in south Gujarat at the International Exhibition and Convention Centre in Surat in the evening. Meanwhile, the CM had addressed the beneficiaries of Garib Kalyan Mela through video conferencing from Surat district Seva Sadan. He also attended a grand felicitation function of Rajya Sabha MP Mansukh Mandavia in Katargam area of Surat, late in the evening. Modi also attended the Naam Mahotsav at Beda Raipur village of Tapi district in the afternoon.

Speaking at the inauguration of the wind turbine tower plant, the CM said that anti-Gujarat elements have conspired to stop the country’s businessmen from setting up their plants in Gujarat. The central government is also devising plans to shift Gujarat’s industries to Maharashtra, he claimed.

“Gujarat doesn’t have iron ore but it is on top in the production of steel. Gujarat doesn’t have coal but it is on top in power generation. Gujarat doesn’t have diamond mines but it is on top in diamond business. This is the result of a right vision and political will,” he said.
