Narendra Modi to felicitate samras female sarpanchs

Chief Minister Narendra Modi will felicitate the female sarpanchs of samras village panchayats at the Gujarat University convention centre in Ahmedabad on Saturday.

According to officials, Modi will give away prizes to 250 female samras village panchayats. He will also felicitate 2,056 sarpanchs and members of female samras village panchayats.

The 'first-time-samras' village panchayats having population of less than 5,000 will be given an incentive grant of Rs3 lakh, while villages having population of over 5,000 will get grant of Rs5 lakh. 
Officials said the state government has increased the grant by 25% and will also provide facilities like streetlight and cement
concrete road to villages as an incentive.

There will also be presentations on various development schemes of the government and an exhibition giving information on village development, education, health, women and child development, Mission Mangalam, among others.
