Narendra Modi again asks centre to make Pak release fishermen's boats

Porbandar, a coastal town is home to large number of fishing community members. Pakistan earlier used to return boats seized by them.But they have stopped that since last six years.

Raising the issue of Indian fishermen's boats in Pakistani custody, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi today said that he has requested the centre many times to take up this issue with the neighbouring country.

Addressing a Garib Kalyan Mela in Porbandar district some 200 kms from here, in presence of BJP party president Nitin Gadkari, Modi said that he has requested centre many times to take up the issue of Indian fishermen' boats, with Pakistani authorities and get them released.

Porbandar, a coastal town is home to large number of fishing community members. Pakistan earlier used to return boats seized by them. But they have stopped that since last six years and at present 419 Indian boats (cost of one boats runs in lakhs of rupees) are in their custody.

Pakistan Marine Security Agency time and again detains Indian fishermen and seizes their boats from near the Indian international maritime border. At present 540 Indian fishermen
are in Pakistani custody.

Gadkari showered praises on Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi led Bjp government, BJP national president Nitin Gadkari said working for poor and needy people is the real worship which the Modi government has been doing in Gujarat.

Gadkari said real politics is to serve and work for poor and needy people which is being carried out by Narendra Modi led BJP government in Gujarat.

Gadkari and Modi handed over financial assistance to thousands of poor people of Porbander district at the mela. 

Gadkari equated Modi with `Vikas Purush' and said that his government is on the right path by organising such melas
for the poor people.

Gadkari who arrived in an aircraft to Porbander this morning went straight to Kirti Mandir, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi, where he along with Narendra Modi offered tributes.

He also unveiled a statue of Pandit Din Dayal Upadhyay at Chowpatty Maidan and also inaugurated a sand-sculpture.

He said, "I have come Gujarat first time and got a chance to visit Kirti Mandir here in Porbander which is the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi and I also saw 'Sand-Sculpture' which has impressed me a lot.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Arjun Modhvadia who had planned to go to the site of Garib Kalyan Mela, with his supporters, was detained by the police and later released.

Modhvadia said, "they detained us as they knew that we were going to confront Modi in the Garib Kalyan Mela".
