Villagers in Jharkhand have no electricity but the erstwhile Koda-led UPA government 'swindled' the money belonging to the people of Jharkhand, BJP president Rajnath Singh today said.

"If voted to power the BJP-led NDA government will make efforts to get back each penny from the Koda scam, because it belonged to the people of the state," Singh said while addressing a series of meetings ahead of the December 8 third phase polling.

Accusing the Congress, the RJD and the JMM of equal responsibility for the biggest scam the country had ever seen since Independence, Singh alleged that the Congress toppled the Arjun Munda government in 2006 and then handed over the reins of power to a handful of independent MLAs.

"The villages don't have electricity and farmers don't have security for their produce, but corruption went on during the Koda-led UPA governemnt," Singh claimed.

Lashing out at the rising inflation and prices of food items, the BJP leader claimed that the erstwhile Vajpayee government had always been succesful in curbing price. "But the Congress' policies have hit hard the poor," he added.
