Moid Ahmed's appointment as chairman of UP minority cell stayed

Overruling the decision of UPCC chief Rita Bahuguna Joshi, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has stayed the appointment of Moid Ahmed as the chairman of party's UP Minority Cell.
    
In a letter, copy of which has been forwarded to Joshi, chairman of the minority department of All India Congress Committee, Imran-ur-Rehman Kidwai said he discussed the matter with the Congress president who stayed the appointment of Moid Ahmed till the completion of the organisational polls.
    
In view of the decision of the Congress president, Maroof Khan would continue as chairman of the minority cell of the UPCC, party sources said here.

There have been reports of bickering within the party ever since the UPCC president carried out a minor reshuffle, with some leaders questioning as to how the appointments could be made without clearance from the chairpersons of concerned cells at the AICC.
